Welcome to the Community

Hi there,

Thanks for being a part of Web3 Builders. If you are here, chances are, we have talked to you one way or another. Now that we know about you, it’s time you get to know us better.

Who are we?

Like all of you freshmen out there, we’re also new to Penn😊! Last semester, we realized that there’s no group at Penn 😮 working to capture the exciting opportunities in the world of blockchain and web3 engineering. At Web3 Builders, our goal is to empower 🔌 you guys and expose you to the myriad of engineering opportunities in the perplexing web3 world out there.

Currently, our founding team consists of members who’ve worked at Microsoft, crypto fund Galaxy Digital 🔢, leading crypto payment solution 💸 Ripple Labs, as well as TAs of blockchain-related classes (CIS 233, CIS 700) at Penn.

Where do we want to be?

First and foremost, we want to be the leading blockchain technology/engineering community at Penn. There are 5 areas that we want to focus on: Building, Education, Events, Community, and Career.

Building ⚙️:

We believe that getting your hands dirty is the best way to learn. This means → absolute freedom for project groups, technical consulting projects, buildathons… Our community will support you to build and test your ideal web3 project endeavors.

Education 🧑‍🏫:
We want to help beginners with an interest in blockchain to learn enough context to “go down the rabbit hole” on their own. Also, we want to provide crypto veterans with a platform to discuss ideas, learn from each other, and create sparks for innovative ideas.


Community 🍹:
The fundamental asset of this club is the people. We want to have a tight-knit community to have fun together, learn together, and build together. This means → BYO, retreats, conference trips…

Events 🎉:
We want to host fun and educational events. In addition to speakers, can we be creative and do other things to promote blockchain on campus? We will shape this future together.


Career 👨‍💻:
Ok yeah everyone loves learning, but we get it. We’re at Penn. We all want to get a job. At Web3 Builders, we get that and we’ll help you up your web3.0 recruiting game. In addition to technical consulting projects(with web3 startups), we want to help find resources and leverage our networks so you can continue your interest in blockchain for summer internships and post-grad positions.

Our (very ambitious) Timeline


Here’s what we hope to accomplish in this upcoming semester and how you can be a vital part of this effort:

  1. First Workshop (week of 9/26) - and the education team
  2. We are in the process of developing workshops, we would love some help from people with some blockchain knowledge to help us develop the curriculum.
  3. First BYO (week of 9/19)- and the social team
  4. We would love to have some people who have experience planning social/ or are passionate about letting everyone have a good time! You will solve problems as they come and be calm and focused when (bad) situations happen.
  5. First speaker (TBD) - and event team
  6. Exposing our members and students to industry veterans and other cool blockchain people is the most powerful way to spread the gospel of blockchain technology. You are someone who loves to make things happen and will take pride in hosting a successful event that will echo on campus for days.
  7. First corporate partner - business development team
  8. We want to have corporate partners for potential sponsorship and consulting projects. If you want to help scale our club’s influence through business development, join us!
  9. Website - Marketing team
  10. We need to build a website and establish our social presence. After all, the core value of blockchain is to benefit everyone. If you are passionate about getting our mission and values out to the students, we would love to have you on the marketing committee.
